Kossi Sébastien was born on 24 November in Lomé, Togo.

He studied traditional and contemporary African dance as well as modern and jazz dance from 2000 to 2005 in the ensembles Cie Woenyo, Cie Sojaf and Brin de Choco


In 2006, he choreographed several dance performances that were presented in Togo, Benin, Mali, Ghana, Germany and Denmark. He participated in training projects with Stephanie Thiersch (Germany) and Alexandre Castres (France), among others, and completed his training with Germaine Acogny and other choreographers such as Gilles Jobin, Bud Blumenthal and Tayeb Benamara at the Ecole des Sables in Toubab-Dialaw, Senegal, Dom-K and Patrick Acogny.

In 2013, he taught a programme at the Dance Workshop of the National Theatre of Haiti and at other dance schools such as the Jean René De Soin Dance Centre, the Aquin Festival and the Dance Centre of the University of Haiti.



In 2014, Kossi carried out an extensive training and creation project with dancers and choreographers from Togo, supported by the Togo Culture Aid Fund.



From 2012 to 2019 he collaborated with the dance project Steptext and danced in numerous productions by Helge Letonja in Germany and abroad, including Johannesburg, Durban, Montreal, Catania, Senegal..... In 2018, he created a duet piece entitled IN THE SKIN OF THE OTHER with choreographer Tomas Bünger, which was performed in Dhaka-Bangladesh, Lomé-Togo and Bremen. Within the framework of various cooperations he creates transcultural dance-theatre projects for young people (with Quartier Bremen, University of Arts in Ottersberg, Goethe-Institut Bangladesh.

From 2019 until today he is a member of the company Of Curious Nature; he has worked with various choreographers such as: Felix Landerer, Helge Letonja, Samir Calixto, Tomas Bünger, the company Korsia....
